Among the Ten Mahavidyas essential for becoming a proficient Tantric practitioner, Chinnamasta Devi is highly revered. It is crucial for both novice Sadhaks embarking on their spiritual path and those already initiated as beginner Tantrics to acquaint themselves with this Goddess and her Mantra. This knowledge is key to advancing in spiritual proficiency and achieving the highest possible Siddhis. The realm of Sadhanas and Siddhis is so vast and diverse that it is nearly impossible for anyone to grasp it in its entirety.
Nevertheless, there are Aghoris and seemingly ordinary Tantra practitioners who immerse themselves deeply in the expansive and boundless realm of Tantra, dedicating significant effort to achieve their true aspirations. It's important to note that their pursuits are not driven by materialistic desires. Moreover, a genuine Tantric typically remains discreet about their abilities, only discussing them if approached with a specific issue or for a particular reason.
Story of Chinnamasta Devi:
In the Goddess-centric traditions of Hindi culture and religion, Chinnamasta Devi holds a significant position. Her name, literally translating to "the one with the severed head," designates her as the consort of Shiva's avatar, known as "Chinnamastaka."
Various stories surround Chinnamasta Devi, with the most notable recounting an incident during Goddess Parvati's bath. Accompanying her were two attendants named Jaya and Vijaya. When the attendants persistently expressed hunger, Goddess Parvati, in response, severed her own head. From her headless form, three streams of blood emerged. One flowed into Jaya's mouth, another into Vijaya's, and the third into Goddess Parvati's own mouth. Subsequently, she came to be known as "Chinnamasta Devi."
In other version of the story, the Goddess is standing with her attendants Dakini and Varnini and under her feet are Kama Dev and Rati Devi, having sex. This symbolizes how essential it is for an individual to control their sexual urges during the awakening of Kundalini. No – masturbation and sex are not bad or taboos, but the higher your sexual desire is, the easier it is for Shakti to rise and mate with the Shiva in your spine.Chinnamasta Devi is depicted as a 16 year old girl with a fully awakened Kundalini. Her breasts are covered with a beautiful garland.
