Is it wrong to ask god for material things?

When we talk about the Topic called God, we have many things to talk about him. There are many people who are believers and non- believers of God. So,this post is basically for those,who are the believers. So,I think,non-believers can just skip this. By the way, this post is for people belonging to all religions,but the primary focus will be on the Hindu religion i.e The Hinduism.

• So,Who is the God?

So, basically,who is the God? God is the one who created all of us,who made this entire Universe and who runs this whole universe and multiverses. This is the basic definition of God for most of the people. People mainly goes towards Spirituality,basically for two reasons, 1.To fulfill his material needs. Material needs will be different for different people,for some it maybe to become rich and earn a lot of money,and for some it maybe to get fame and become a famous celebrity,for other some it maybe to get a son or daughter if they have children,etc,etc... 2.The second reason ,people go towards God is to learn the religion,get a deep dive into spirituality so that their mind also remains calm,And to also get more closer towards God and get to the Ultimate and last Goal of this Human birth, i.e to get closer to the God and attain Moksha.

• Can we ask anything from god?If yes what?Can we ask for money?

See,to answer this question,it depends on you first,that what you want from God. You may ask many things from God,or you may be a person who doesn't want anything from God. You may also be a person, who doesn't want anything from God,but just want God.So,can you ask anything from God?Anything,I mean money too? Yes,offcourse. See, God is the one who created you and sustains you in this Universe. He is the one who takes care of you. Everything of your life is decided by him. You may seem that you decides your life,but whatever actions you take in life,is all approved by him first and that's why you were able to take that action. Even what you dream today or tomorrow is decided by God. So,in short , God is your Father,the Universal Father of all living beings.

So,a Son or a daughter can ask anything from God. Even if you see God as a friend or in any other form,you can ask anything from him. Asking is not a problem. The real thing is,its always suggested that You shouldn't ask materialistic things from God,which is in a way true .And this is a thing that arises a question in many minds of the devotees of God that ,should we ask materialistic things from God. There are two types of devotees of God:-

1. The one who does Sakaam Bhakti(Who asks somethings in return from God,after doing their devotion.)

2.Nishkaam Bhakti(The one who does bhakti(devotion) wholeheartedly without the wish of anything in return from God)

The Supreme Reality

The one who does Sakaam Bhakti,there's no problem for them,but the one who does or who wants to do Nishkaam Bhakti,the new devotees who directly wants to come under this category,who understands that materialistic things are not forever and they are Nashwar, who understands that we should actually ask no materialistic things from God and should only ask moksh or Bhakti from God, but the new devotees even after understanding all these, finds cravings inside their heart for materialistic things because under the influence of Maya and under the influence of this worldly people and the material pleasures of this world.

So,yes you can ask money from God any any of your materialistic wishes, because he is just like your parent. If you will not ask him ,then whom would you ask?  Just take care you don't ask the demi Gods your wishes as demi gods will only grant you your wishes if your karma is good and you have good amount of storage of good karma. If you have that,then they will grant you any wish irrespective of whatever you are asking is good or bad. So, instead of pleading before demi Gods,you should ask for your wishes from the Supreme God. Like for Hinduism, Shiva,Krishna,Mata Parvati,etc are all supreme gods but all devtas like Agni dev,Indra dev,etc are all demi gods. The difference is when you ask for your wishes from Supreme Lord,he will grant you your wishes,irrespective of you have enough amount of good karma or not. He is that much Kind. He even pleases on the most Cruel people. But his condition is he will only grant you your wish if it is good for you,or if fulfilling your wish doesn't harm you. Because you cannot see future but God can. If he sees that fulfilling your current wish can cause you some damage later,he will not grant you that wish irrespective of how much you plead before him. You may seem that your wish is not harmful for you in any way,but remember God can see what you cannot see. 

So,yes,ultimately you can pray before him for your wishes and just wait patiently, don't be in a hurry. Your wish will be definitely fulfilled,if its worth for it...
